Hello all, welcome to the third edition of Grad:Focus. Below are some upcoming career opportunities, including internships and graduation schemes!


Verisk Analytics Sales Intern - 2025 Summer Internship Program

Location: London

Dates: June - August 2025

The role:

  • Conduct immersive customer and/or industry research, analyse data, and develop innovative future programs to benefit our customers. 

  • Participate in detail-oriented risk or financial initiatives for our global company and/ or our clients. 

  • Engage customers directly to explore market opportunities and participate as part of the sales team. 

  • Build professional relationships with other interns, coworkers and customers while offering support across business units. 

  • New technologies, including Microsoft access, excel, sql, and more. 

Requirements:

  • Collaborative, well rounded, passionate, strong work ethic. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently on projects. 

  • Enrolled in bachelors or masters program

  • A history of tackling projects with a quantitative lens, and a desire for data-driven insights. 

  • Interest or past experience in insurance is helpful, though not required. 

  • Technical skill requirements vary depending on the position. Include your technical skillset on your resume

  • At a minimum, you should have Microsoft excel as a foundation. 


Moody’s Ratings And Research Support Summer Intern - Financial Institutions Group

Location: London

Dates: 16/6/25 - 22/8/25

The role:

  • Participate in case studies designed to further analytical understanding 

  • Work on various analytical, research, data, process related projects 

  • Collect data and identify trends to support well-thought-out credit conclusions 

  • Prepare financial documents, charts, and presentations 

  • Responsible for monitoring media outlets for news regarding special projects or portfolios 

  • Provide analytical and research support to the rating teams 

  • Contribute to the creation of high-quality research publications 

Requirements:

  • Good accounting or statistics background (e.g., through coursework, CFA (or equivalent) may be required for some, but not all teams) 

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

  • Excellent verbal, and written communication, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and handle workflow, to adapt to a changing environment, and prioritise tasks accordingly 

  • Strong organisational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail 

  • Fluency in English is essential and additional European languages - French or Italian - are much preferred for the role

  • Students matriculating through college, studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification, or a Master’s Degree, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Political Economy, International Relations, Statistics, or another quantitative field 

The successful Summer Intern can aspire to receive an offer to join Moody's as an Ratings Associate after they graduate. 



Booz Allen Hamilton Women in Business, Audit, Centre of Excellence, National, 2025

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Dates: 14/04/25-16/04/25

The role:

  • Engage in specialist learning, discussing pensions reporting and financial statements with Finance Directors of major clients

  • Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and management

  • Choose to work within our broader Audit practice or deepen your expertise within the CoE

  • Gain your Chartered Accountancy qualification

Requirements:

  • On track to complete an undergraduate degree in any subject, based on your most recent academic grades.

  • Eligibility includes first-year undergraduates on a three-year degree course or second-year undergraduates on a four-year degree course.

Gain the opportunity to be considered for a 2026 Summer Internship. Many of our summer internship participants receive graduate role offers. 



Beazley Underwriting UK Graduate Programme

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Deadline: 30/11/24

The role:

  • Participate in training rotations across your chosen division’s Underwriting and Business Management functions.

  • Following the successful completion of the programme, you will move into a full-time Underwriter role within your chosen division.

  • The divisions include cyber, digital, property, specialty, and marine, accident & political (MAP):

  • Also work on development and progression pathways specific to your chosen programme.

  • Be supported to achieve you CII Diploma whilst on programme, and achieve the ‘Insurance Professional’ standard qualification.

  • Get a final placement role personalised to them and their development.

Requirements:

  • 2:2 degree or above in any discipline, any university.


Hymans Robertson Summer Internship Programme

Deadline: 30/11/24

Dates: 7/25-08/25

Location: London, Birmingham

The role:

Be aligned to one of our Business Areas (either Actuarial Private, Investment DB, Defined Contribution Consulting, or Insurance & Financial Services)

  • Help our consultants use data to help businesses make decisions to positively impact the lives of their employees.

  • Provide analysis of large data sets to formulate and present advice for clients

  • Gain an understanding of how to work with data modelling tools and software

  • Be given an individual project to work on, aligned to your business unit, and present your findings

Requirements:

  • Penultimate year student

  • Ability to work well with numbers

Those who do well throughout it can be offered a space on our graduate programme for the following year


DLA Piper  2025 UK Summer Internship

Dates: 06/25-07/25

The role:

G-Research HR Placement

Location: London

Dates: 14/07/25-17/07/26

  • Opportunity to learn and immerse yourself in what it means to be a good HR professional across three key HR and talent functions, each with unique responsibilities.

Talent Development

  • Organisational development, performance management, succession planning and learning and development

  • Support the Talent Development Business Partners, in programme and project delivery

  • Build productive relationships with key internal stakeholders and third party training providers

  • Organise executive coaching assignments where necessary for our management and leadership teams

  • Coordinate our annual Corporate Core Curriculum training to support our employees’ career progress

  • Help organise our Early Careers Programme to support the development of our future talent pipeline

Talent Acquisition (Campus)

  • Use different sourcing tools to find niche talent in a variety of markets

  • Work with our Campus team to support university events, students and societies, and internship programmes

  • Ensure an exceptional candidate experience for all who interact with G-Research

  • Assist in running diversity focused programmes, such as STEMettes

Core HR

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR and benefits queries, ensuring prompt, accurate, and professional responses

  • Guide HR projects

  • Prepare HR documents, ensuring they adhere to company standards and serve the needs of employees

  • Ensure accuracy in billing and timely processing

  • Build effective relationships with third-party benefits providers, ensuring seamless benefits administration and issue resolution

  • Analyse common queries and issues, and identify opportunities to improve internal processes or employee communication strategies

Marketing and Communications

  • Support with website content curation and posting, including blogs and job adverts

  • Drafting and delivering internal communications to our people across a range of channels

  • Support with social media curation, posting and monitoring

  • Sourcing and liaising with suppliers to deliver and replenish marketing materials and merchandise, including branded hoodies and office posters

  • Supporting both our internal and external events programmes, including on-the-day assistance

Requirements:

  • Enrolled on a sandwich degree with a graduation date in 2027

  • Strong interest in Human Resources

  • Be studying a Sandwich Year degree in a transferable subject, such as Social Sciences, Business Studies, Organisational Psychology

  • Be highly organised, motivated and eager to learn

  • Have strong grades at either A-levels or BTEC


Motive PR internship

Dates: 07/24 (12 weeks)

The role:

  • Opportunity to learn the PR ropes within a supportive and close-knit team

Requirements:

  • Applicants must already have some experience working within a PR agency, which is why we also offer short work experience placements


Previous interns have gone on to become permanent members of the Motive team.
